Total Knee Replacement
Dr. Ghattas also treats knee arthritis with a number of conservative options. He advocates exhausting all conservative options prior to considering replacement. These options include: weight loss, activity modification, oral anti-inflammatories, injections, BMAC or PRP, off-loader bracing, physical therapy.
If the knee arthritis fails to improve with these options, and becomes lifestyle limiting, then he may recommend a knee replacement. The current knee replacement options have come a long way and now have custom implants specific for each patient. Dr. Ghattas uses patient specific software and custom minimally invasive techniques to offer a knee replacement tailored to each patient.
